Brief
The Northwest Dayton Cultural Arts will provide a third space for the community to interact, and a place for the community to express themselves through various art forms.
Art’s Importance
It allows people to contextualize their experiences and connect through them.
It allows space for the exploration of identity and personal values.
It supports interpersonal connection and creates empathy, which makes communities stronger
Third Space’s Importance
Firstly, they provide a neutral ground for connection that is separate from the daily routine of life, such as the work-and-home rhythm
Secondly, they act as a leveler, putting everyone on the same plane so that they can interact with one another and their environment more comfortably. They essentially neutralize status indicators.
